CO2 Data Workshop

Madrid, Spain
2 October

The Passenger & Cargo CO2 Emissions Calculations & Transparency workshop will be held on 2nd October 2023 in Madrid, Spain. The workshop is in conjunction with World Sustainability Symposium (WSS) which starts the following day.

The agenda will be published shortly.

There are increasing expectations for the air transport sector to be transparent about its environmental impacts, with display & reporting of CO2 emissions becoming more prominent. This has resulted in a proliferation of CO2 calculation methodologies and calculators, and the workshop intends to offer insights and a forum for exchange to discuss the risks and opportunities.

Understand the differences between existing CO2 data models, and discover the capabilities of IATA CO2 Connect and the power of use of airline primary data as part of a real-world demonstration. Discuss with peers some of the challenges in offering CO2 compensation (offsetting or SAF contributions) solutions to passengers and corporates, and hear about the solutions IATA could provide in the future.
